Accelerated complexity Austrian tool manufacturer Boehlerit is one of the most important suppliers of other toolmakers in Europe. Most recently, the company has adopted the optical 3D micro coordinate measurement system Infinite Focus by Alicona for its quality assurance process. “With the new G5 system, we are able to measure even the most complex geometries with high precision.” Tool expert Gerhard Melcher estimates that this will shorten the development times of new cutting inserts by at least 30%, which also means that special tools will be available sooner.
